Catullus 96

Catullus 96

Si quicquam mutis gratum acceptumve sepulcris
If anything welcome or pleasing to the silent tombs

accidere a nostro, Calve, dolore potest,
is able to occur from our pain, Calvus,

quo desiderio veteres renovamus amores
with which longing we renew our old loves

atque olim missas flemus amicitias,
and once, we weep for the sent friendships,

5 certe non tanto mors immatura dolori est
Certainly, untimely death is not such a matter of great grief

Quintiliae, quantum gaudet amore tuo.
for Quintilia, as much as she rejoices in your love.
